Reaching a larger audience. When posting job listings online, use your brand's social media accounts to ensure that you can get a greater scope of applicants. It also heightens the odds that those who apply will already be familiar and somewhat invested in your company.
Gaining perspective on potential applicants. Social media, and how ubiquitous it is, makes it more likely that applicants will already be present and active on social media platforms. This offers an inside look at your applicants, and allows you to get, typically, a more candid and genuine look at their personalities. Assessing an applicant in this way not only provides more context to these people, but can signal red flags as to how an individual may or may not fit into company culture. Should the applicant be seeking a job in social media, the absence of a social media presence may be something to be weary of.
Increasing odds of referral applicants. When you encourage employees to post job openings on their own social media pages, it increases the likelihood that your company will get more referral applicants, which tend to be higher quality. This is a simple way to increase the odds of references, and has the potential to improve the hiring process overall.
Recruiting can be a tricky process, but integrating social media into your approach can have great advantages. For more information on the ways in which social media is being adopted into all sorts of brand strategies, check out Trend Hunter's Social Media Trend Report.
